We at Fly Reckless would like to thank everyone who contributed to the discussion, and Seismic Stan, who was not able to attend but provided us with his particularly thought provoking sentiments.

I am disappointed with your pro-CCP tone in this podcast. You think that the pitchfork folks and
emorage quitters want to destroy EVE? – when they actually want to SAVE it.
You say we should be quiet, be civil, just wait out and see what happens? This is exactly what CCP wants. They want to wait for things to calm down and then continue to transform EVE bit by bit. They are not interested in our opinion, our words fall on empty ears.
Every emorage quitter, every pitchfork, every pony picture posted on forum, every ship shooting the monuments in EVE, every cancelled subscription does 1000x times more to save EVE than those who are sitting quietly and waiting.
CCP stated that they won’t listen to our words. They will only observe our actions. Every action we take sends a message to CCP; you are doing something wrong!
So I am sorry if we care about EVE. Sorry that we don’t want to idly stand by and watch EVE sink into oblivion.
I cancelled my accounts not because of hate. I cancelled them out of love and care for EVE.

Have to agree with KYZ on this one.
1. I am total agreement that people need to be civil and personal attacks on CCP employees are wrong. People should voice their opinions and be receptive to opposing views.
2. CPP IS a company and as such they do need to break even/make a profit to continue to be a business
However….
The point most (not all…some just want to riot) of the so called “emoragequitters” are trying to make is that “we have been voicing our opinions since (insert thing I didn’t like long ago here) and you didn’t listen to me. These people have finally given up voicing their opinions because they feel CCP isn’t listening to them. They believe the only way to “be heard” is to hit CCP where it counts…in the bottom line. This a perfectly viable way to express ones opinion. Someone in the podcast said (Paraphrase) “If enough of you quit…there is no more Eve onlin”. That MAY be true. The unsubscribers are hoping for: CCP finally listened when enough of us quit and changed course. I will now resubscribe.

CCP is telling you that your actions speak louder than words. And you manage to burn an hour while talking to your listeners about how you yourself just cannot manage to understand what was just made clear. Best of luck in your future endeavours. Better wear shades.

I don’t think they are disconnected from the player base, you need to ask yourself what you want and think about it. Do you want the end of the game or to continue playing the game?
Me, I want to play the game, but not if I don’t like what they’re doing with it, so I’m waiting to see what happens and what they say.
If they say that their implementing ship’s and ammo and standings on the aur thing I’m off the game.
Until then I’m going to stay only with my main account activated, and alt accounts I will no longer subscribe till I know what they’re going to do with the game.
And I think people should manifest they’re concerns doing manifestations whatever they like, just don’t ask people to quit because that would be breaking the game, If you don’t like the game and decided not to play, quit.

All of you need to take a step back, shut down that PC, and go outside for a breath of fresh air…. You have obviously been in a cave of some kind for way to long. The one and only thing I have to say, which is very important to let sink in, is this: CCP could not give a flyin’ **** what any of you think. relax, go grill something, its summer for crying out loud. You could type until you are blue in the face, but IT WILL NEVER MATTER. unless you are part of the inner circle of the CCP Corp (in RL, seriously did I just have to type that..?), anything you theorize, brainstorm, come up with, etc… will never have any affect on the game you love to bitch and moan about. Period.
Whats the point of my little corner of the site here..? THIS: Get back to doing the obvious things that all the expansions that you cried for, and finally were given, gave you the option to go and do.
The Future is bleak, probably even worse for the Real World than it will ever be for the world of Eve. But all I have ever seen in the last 2 years of following the game is shite like this, and you all need to relax a bit. EVE is great as is, but you just need something to bitch about? or what?

I’ve listened to every fly reckless ever put out there and I have the upmost respect \o/ – and Cam I love what you’ve done with the place (and personally congrats man you sound happy), and props to the cast and crew.
I know this is a late post but I think our protesters did a fine job, even though they were likely wrong (though that’s not something we can easily know, corporations being the entities they are) so thanks guys and galls – this show is professional yes, balanced no not really, balanced as a Fox perhaps, so get real Overlord Pinky, whatever your position on the issues to claim balance in this instance exposes you to ridicule. Now if you want balance check out game breaker TV’s coverage, and their discussion with massively’s Eve corespondent a couple of shows ago – that’s how non-eve people viewed it.

Thanks for the podcast.
I agree that there is too much exaggrated emo in the forums.. but that has always been the reality of the eve forums for a small very vocal minority.
That said, the events surrounding the micro tranaction discussion were troubling for me. I think it would be easy (concidering the slippery slope that more MT mmos have fallen down) to implememnt RMT policies that would ruin the game for me. If this were to happen I would not rant or talk about it.. I would just leave. I think more people out there are of this persuasion.
P.S.
Monicals are too expensive and no I will not be buying one.. are you kidding? When did a Locutus of Borg style eye replacement become attractive? but that’s not the point I want to make. If this is how expensive an item I could not imagine buying will be, how much greater a price point will items I might want to buy will become? There are things I have wanted and always identified with..racial clothing and items. Are we going to have to pay 70 bucks or more for these? or will they be free. I want my Amarr Headdress. It was key to my in game personna. =)
